Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion looks on during the Premier League match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace at American Express Community Stadium on March 15, 2023 in Brighton, England.

Brighton are refusing to budge on their price-tag of £100M for Chelsea target, 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐨, which was made clear after a meeting took place between Brighton, Caicedo and his agents.

Chelsea have seen a third offer for Moises Caicedo rejected by Brighton as the Blues continue to struggle to deal with the Seagulls. Brighton initially made it clear they wanted Levi Colwill, but Todd Boehly and co wanted to keep the England International, and so they did as Colwill extended his contract with the club recently, meaning Chelsea will have to significantly up their £80million proposal.

Last week, Brighton rejected a $100 million offer from Chelsea with one source claiming to Sky Sports News that the Seagulls valued Caicedo “in the same bracket as Arsenal's record-signing Declan Rice and will look to get in the region of [$125 million] for him.”

Some reports even claimed Brighton are not expecting any club to meet their valuation of 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐨 this summer.

The London giants however, have agreed to pay Rennes £23.5million for Lesley Ugochukwu, who could become part of Mauricio Pochettino’s first team or join Strasbourg on loan.

Frank Leboeuf: "I love Moises Caicedo, but he's not what Chelsea should be looking for right now.

@ESPNFC Frank Leboeuf:

"I love Moises Caicedo, but he's not what Chelsea should be looking for right now. They have no experience in the middle of the park, they have no experienced player other than Thiago Silva in the spine."

"Experience is what is lacking the most at Chelsea. They have young and very talented players, but you need players with experience. They didn't replace players like Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante or Jorginho,” says Leboeuf.

“Moises Caicedo is a great player, but he doesn't have the experience I'm looking for and which will be needed in the middle of the park at Chelsea."

What next for Moises Caicedo ?

Roberto De Zerbi: “I don’t know. If Moises leaves, we will find another important player.."

Moises Caicedo was not in Brighton’s friendly squad that played Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. The player’s has been very clear on his position that he wants to leave.

Roberto De Zerbi spoke after the game and when asked if Caicedo will return to first-team training on Monday, said: “I don’t know. If Moises leaves, we will find another important player. If Moises stays, I’ll be happy for us. It’s not my problem. At Brighton, it’s possible to lose some players; we always move forward.”
